Stijn Jonckheere (1989, Torhout, BE) received his Master's Degree Magna Cum Laude in Explorative
Architectural Development
at LUCA School of Arts Brussels near the end of 2012. Since graduation
he resides in Munich, Germany.

Employing the field of architecture as a medium — as opposed to an end goal — his projects often start
with subjective perceptions of real-life locations. Although technically buildable, the resulting structures
are as fleeting as the memories that originally fueled their creation. With his work, Jonckheere hopes to
spark debate among his peers, and generally strive for a more instinctual, unrestrained creative process
within architecture.

January 2015 Stijn Jonckheere, Studio was founded in order to pool all creative activities, which by now
blurred the borders between architecture, illustration and graphic design. Shortly after Jonckheere
broke cover as a visual artist, showing prints of his architectural projects at several solo exhibitions
throughout Germany.

As of 2016 Jonckheere ventured into teaching, being invited by Ateliers De Vylder Vinck Taillieu to guide
students through small stand-alone studios parallel to the main design exercises, over at EPFL ENAC
Lausanne
